Description:
Delete It lets you build a reusable list of folders to clean and then remove unwanted files and folders from those locations with a single click or on a schedule. The tool supports preview mode, file-type filters, age limits, use of the Windows Recycle Bin, logging, auto-delete at fixed intervals, and an explicit list of protected paths that will never be deleted. Your delete list and protected paths are saved automatically between sessions, and you can export detailed logs of each run to CSV or text for review.






How to use:

1. Add folders to clean:
   In the Add Folder area, use Path to type or browse to the folder you want to clean, and (optionally) set a Filter such as *.tmp, *.log or *.bak (you can list several, space- or comma-separated). Leave the filter blank to target all files in that folder.
   
   
2. Add the folder to the list:
   Click Add to add the folder to the Delete List. You can repeat this for as many folders as you like. You can also drag and drop folders from Explorer straight into the list for faster setup. Duplicates are detected automatically, and your list is saved between sessions.
   
   
3. Configure Auto-Delete per folder:
   Use the Auto-Delete checkbox for each row to mark which folders should be included when automatic deletions run. Folders without this box ticked will only be processed when you manually start a deletion.
   
   
4. Choose safety options:
   Turn on Preview only to run a dry-run. This shows what would be deleted without actually removing any files or folders.
   Tick Use Recycle Bin to send deletions via the Windows Recycle Bin instead of permanently deleting them.
   Enable Min age (days) and set a value if you only want to delete files older than a certain number of days, protecting recently created or modified files.
   Turn on Log deletions to file if you want each run recorded in a log that can be reviewed or exported later.
   
   
5. Enable automatic deletion (optional):
   In the Auto-Delete section, tick Enabled and choose an Interval (minutes) (for example every 15 minutes). Any folders with their Auto-Delete checkbox ticked in the list will be processed automatically at this interval while the tool is running.
   
   
6. Run a manual cleanup:
   When you are ready, click Delete Files / Folders. If preview mode is off, you'll be asked to confirm first — the prompt states whether files go to the Recycle Bin or are permanently deleted, and how many protected paths will be skipped. The status line shows each file as it's processed, and you can press Cancel to stop a long run at any time. In preview mode you'll see a summary of how many files were found, how much space would be freed, how long the run took, and how many errors occurred; when preview is turned off, the same summary reflects actual deletions. Any subfolders left empty after the files are removed are also cleaned up.
   
   
7. Review last run status:
   The Last Run panel shows key statistics from the most recent run, including files processed, total space freed, run time, number of errors, and the number of log entries (with a reminder to use Export to review them).
   
   
8. Export results:
   Use Export to CSV to save a structured log suitable for analysis or reporting in tools like Excel. Use Export to Text File to create a simple human-readable log for your records or quick review.

   Switch to the Protected Paths tab to manage folders that must never be deleted, even if they appear in the Delete List.
   
   
2. Add a protected folder:
   Enter or browse to the folder path you want to protect, then click Protect. The folder is added to the Protected Paths list and will be excluded from deletion in all runs (this list is also saved between sessions).
   
   
3. Review and maintain protected entries:
   The list shows all protected folder paths. Review this list when configuring new delete jobs to make sure important locations are always safeguarded.
